PERCIL WATKINS

Percil Watkins spent twenty-five years at Corning Incorporated the company that invented low-loss optical fiber, turning breakthrough physics into products the world runs on. He was there when Corning rewrote the rules of light and as a project leader on the ClearCurve program from 2005 to 2009 in Wilmington, North Carolina, Percil Watkins led cross-functional development from Research through Manufacturing on one of the most consequential fiber innovations of the modern era. ClearCurve, launched in 2007, is the bend-insensitive optical fiber that made fiber-to-the-home a global reality; its inventors were inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and its design philosophy was radical: do not fight the substrate  re-engineer the boundary so the light cannot escape, no matter how sharply the fiber bends. 


That is precisely the design philosophy rQBIOAI's CEO has created his Quantum High Energy Physics architecture. Percil Watkins works inside that philosophy and hist history clealry demonstrates he delivers sucess within that philopshy of out of the box innovative system thinking and engineering and product strategy.


From Corning, New York, he then led the technical development and launch of Corning's first Active Optical Cables for the Thunderbolt and USB standards fusing fiber, cable, connectors, electronics, and embedded software into a customer product line exceeding $20 million in revenue, in direct collaboration with leading device makers. He went on to drive Corning's first global platform cost-reduction initiative from Hickory, North Carolina, consolidating thousands of fiber-optic hardware products worldwide into two major platforms, cutting costs by more than twenty percent, and coaching the project managers who ran three concurrent teams.


Trained in Materials Engineering with a Ceramics concentration at NC State University, Percil Watkins speaks the language of condensed materials science, defect density, thermal processing, and manufacturing yield.
