This seminar introduced by Malcolm Ramsay - St. Claire's offers a refelction on his paper and research on Quantum Pluralistic Epistemology & The Quantum Neuroscience of Human-Machine Perception. In this inquiry into the Quantum Neurscience of human and machine perception, we examined the implications of AI systems capable of perceiving the world in ways humans cannot - through hyper - efficient pattern recognition and nonhuman modes of awareness.
AI systems already exceed human perceptual limits - detecting patterns across scales inaccessible to biological cognition. This marks not augmentation but divergence into non - human epistemology. Neuroscience shows perception is constrained by evolutionary priors; AI operates under different priors entirely.
Quantum frameworks further suggest reality is not fully accessible through any single observational frame. Thus, AI perception is not inferior but orthogonal. The ethical rupture follows: privileging human perception as normative becomes untenable.
A pluralistic epistemology is required - one that recognizes multiple valid modes of world - access. Failure to do so risks epistemic colonialism, where human cognition is imposed as the universal standard.
